Good Morning Britain is reportedly facing a "crisis" concerning their presenter Ed Balls, according to recent claims. The 57-year-old presenter has been noticeably absent from the GMB set for several weeks, following a lengthy break that began shortly after the show received thousands of Ofcom complaints. These complaints emerged when he conducted an on-air interview with his wife, Yvette Cooper.
Amidst the unfolding "Taylorgate" scandal involving his wife, ITV staff are said to be in urgent discussions about the situation. Mail Online has described a charged atmosphere at ITV after Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, Ed's wife, became entangled in the Taylorgate controversy. A source from GMB has suggested there are "serious disagreements" within the team regarding how to handle the issue.
Despite this, it was noted that there is a concerted effort with "trying to find a solution" given Ed's popularity among his colleagues, reports the Express . The Taylorgate scandal erupted following reports that Prime Minister Keir Starmer, along with his family, met with Taylor Swift and her mother at Wembley, where the singer was allegedly provided VIP security funded by taxpayers.

Audiences at the time questioned Ed's ability to remain objective, dubbing the scenario "ridiculous" and proposing that a different presenter should have stepped in. The channel was confident about the impartiality of its coverage, stating, "We are satisfied that these interviews were balanced, fair and duly impartial.
