Good Bad Ugly is a big-ticket entertainer and a visual treat for Thala Ajith fans

Star cast: Ajith Kumar, Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Sunil, Jackie Shroff, Sayaji Shinde, Tinnu Anand, Priya Prakash Varrier, Prabhu, Prasanna, Yogi Babu, Raghu Ram, Redin Kingsley, Rahul Dev, Usha Uthup and Shine Tom Chacko Director: Adhik Ravichandran After disappointing fans with Vidaamuyarchi , Ajith Kumar, aka Thala Ajith, promised to come back in his messy avatar with Good Bad Ugly . While the trailer and songs have garnered tremendous response from fans, let’s see whether it has lived up to their sky-high expectations. AK, aka The Red Dragon (Ajith Kumar), a dangerous gangster surrenders himself to police after his wife, Ramya (Trisha Krishnan), who just delivered a baby boy, tells him to leave the criminal line as it can put their son’s life in danger.

While AK is in jail for 18 years, Ramya and Jayaprakash (AK’s father) have kept this thing hidden from AK’s son,, Vihaan (Karthikeya Dev) as he is always told that he is busy doing international tours due to business. On his convocation, which is just a few weeks before his 18th Birthday, Vihaan gets upset and expresses his pain to AK on a video call that he is never there for him. AK gets disappointed and requests the jailer to release him early.

When he gets out from jail 3 months before the completion of his imprisonment, AK is shocked to know that his son has been kidnapped and Ramya blames him, saying that some people from Mumbai’s gang might have done that. AK turns his Red Dragon avatar and starts hunting the gang, only to find out that his son has been arrested in a drug case in Madrid. While Vihaan is wrongly framed in this crime and the culprit is not associated with AK, how will the latter find the real culprit? Ajith Kumar has always showed his charismatic onscreen presence with his unmatchable swag, and director Adhik Ravichandran has made sure to load ample of wow moments for Thala fans.

After the disappointing Vidaamuyarchi , it’s a visual treat to see Ajith in his signature vintage style. The director made sure to keep the narrative entertaining as well as fun with a dose of all the emotions. Talking about the performances, it’s a Thala Ajith show all the way as it looks like the character was made keeping the megastar in mind.

On the other hand, Trisha Krishnan once again lit the screen with her luminous presence. Arjun Das, who plays the dual roles of Jhonny and Jammy, is simply brilliant. Other cast members, including Karthikeya Dev, Prabhu, Jackie Shroff, Tinu Anand, Priya Varrier, and Prasanna, have played their roles to the T.

Yogi Babu & Simran’s cameos add comic punches to the movie. On the whole, Good Bad Ugly is a big-ticket entertainer and a visual treat for Thala Ajith fans. Rating: 3.
