Golden Bears rough up Bulldogs

The UMD women's basketball team fell behind 18-3 after six minutes and things didn't get much better in their last game of the 2024 calendar year.

ST. PAUL — There was little for Minnesota Duluth women's basketball to look back upon fondly from Saturday's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game at Concordia-St. Paul.

The 14th-ranked Golden Bears jumped out to an early 18-3 lead and just kept going, routing the Bulldogs 82-38 in their last game of the calendar year 2024. ADVERTISEMENT UMD started out 1-for-9 from the field with four turnovers in the game's first 6:01, a Myra Moorjani 3-pointer the only play in their favor. CSP was 7-for-11 from the floor in the same span.



The Bulldogs trailed 44-16 at halftime and gave up 29 third-quarter points. Five Golden Bears scored in double figures, while Lexi Karge and Grace Counts scored 10 points apiece for UMD, which finished 15-for-62 (24 percent) from the floor with 16 turnovers. The Bulldogs (4-8, 2-5 NSIC) will try and regroup after the holiday break with a Jan.
