This year, two drag queens are making a statement by running the Brighton Marathon in full drag, proof that their commitment to philanthropy and fitness is as fierce as their fashion.

The Brighton Marathon, now just weeks away, will see two participants running in full drag to support a local charity. Brighton drag queen's Snow White Trash and RJ Campinuff are raising vital funds for The Sussex Beacon, a charity that provides support for people living with HIV. Snow White Trash made the memorable announcement at Brighton Pride last year, that she would be running the Brighton Marathon in drag.

She said: "Last year when watching the Brighton Marathon as a spectator I had a silly little thought that I could run it and raise money for charity. "Sadly, soon after Miss Jason passed away. Jason was a patron of the Sussex Beacon.

"Jason was a true trailblazer of our community and a patron of The Sussex Beacon. "I then decided, as a complete non-runner, that I would run the marathon in her memory and raise as much money as possible. "I also committed to running it in drag as an extra challenge and to show that drag queens can do anything.

"As the months of training progressed, regrettably I am now also running in memory of Sarah Nixon, The Vivienne, Jay Page, and Maisie Trollette. "I’m nervous but privileged to able to honour their memories and raise money for the brilliant Sussex Beacon. "I’m determined to enjoy April 6th as much as possible and I can’t wait to experience the crowds and the race.

"I am so grateful to everyone who’s donated so far and continues to do so in order to help The Sussex Beacon continue to do their incredible work. After recently completing the Brighton Half Marathon, Ed Parry aka Snow White Trash is gearing up to conquer the marathon and is already on track to meet the fundraising target of £5,000.

"Having been our most recent patron, we were privileged to have quite regular contact with Jason, whose passing was an immense shock.

"Of course, many knew him better as Miss Jason, one of the community’s most magnificent and adored drag artists. "The fact Snow is paying tribute to Jason in such a glamorous and special way, whilst raising funds for the Beacon, is really wonderful”. RJ Campinuff, who is also taking part in the Brighton Marathon and raising funds for the Sussex Beacon.

As the marathon approaches, the duo are balancing their training with their busy performance schedules. Drag Queen Snow White Trash is pulling out all the stops to raise funds for the Sussex Beacon. They have emphasised that any funds raised by #TeamBeacon will go towards supporting a number of the Beacon’s projects. This includes funding the community services team’s work and their Women and Families Group Formula Milk Programme which supports and cares for mothers living with HIV..
