Gogglebox's Sue Sheehan has opened up about her diagnosis with Bell's palsy. Sue, alongside her husband Steve from South London, returned to the show in tonight's (December 13) episode after a brief absence. She shared her experience with the condition, which leads to temporary weakness or paralysis of facial muscles.
"I mean, I've had to relearn to do a couple of things since this Bell's palsy," she said. "One is to speak through the side of my mouth, and the other one is chewing. Chewing takes a long time.
" Read more: All the countries UK tourists told not to travel to Steve humorously offered his support, saying, "I have offered to chew your food for you, but you declined," and noted that her wit remained intact: "I've gotta say, you haven't lost the sharp side of your tongue though, have you? " To which Sue quipped, "No, it's sharper than ever actually," Fans of the show expressed their support on X (formerly Twitter), with comments like "Sending love to Sue." "Poor Sue. Hope her Bell's palsy clears soon," and "Lots of love to Sue," accompanied by a heart emoji.
Another viewer admired her bravery: "Fair play to Sue on # gogglebox for appearing with Bell's palsy. Raising awareness can only be good, speaking as someone who is (hopefully temporarily) suffering from the same after brain surgery. I can imagine how much courage that takes.
" The latest Gogglebox episode featured the cast's reactions to various TV shows including Jamie Cooks Christmas and You Bet! and the Light, and Netflix's fresh spy thriller Black Doves. Gogglebox is broadcasted and streamed on Channel 4 ..
