The 1975, which consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel, are hoping to headline Glastonbury in 2025.

The band, who were meant to headline this year, are reportedly playing in the Pyramid Stage next summer. While the lineup is yet to be revealed, a source told The Sun : ' Matty and his bandmates are more than ready to play the Pyramid Stage and they are available. 'Festival organiser Emily Eavis has long wanted The 1975 on board, but they couldn’t make it work last year.



'They are being lined up for the Friday slot at the moment, and all the signs are really positive.' The official Glastonbury tickets went on sale on November 14 and November 17. The stakes were even higher than usual, as 2026 will be a fallow year, meaning the festival will not go ahead.

The event periodically takes a fallow year roughly every five years in order to allow the farm land on which it takes place to fully recover. Harry Styles is also being eyed by Glastonbury bosses to headline next year's festival, as he makes a sensational return to live music. The former One Direction star, 30, shocked fans back in July when he appeared on stage as a guest at Stevie Nicks' BST performance in Hyde Park.

They added: 'Harry would be an incredible act to watch on the Pyramid Stage. Glastonbury has a fallow year in 2026, so booking Harry for next year would be perfect. 'It is something the team at Glastonbury are pushing for.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: 'Ed adores performing at Glastonbury and getting to sing to so many fans on a massive scale. 'He hasn't got any big UK gigs lined up next summer, so this would be really special.' The insider also teased that because the Shape Of You hitmaker has so many celebrity pals, there is bound to be some special duets on stage in late June.

The source added: 'He's got loads of celebrity friends, so he is bound to have some famous collabs on stage with him if it comes off.' The Thinking Out Loud singer last hit the famous stage eight years ago, where he headlined the Pyramid Stage and performed tracks such as Castle on the Hill and Lego House. At the time, he headlined alongside Radiohead and Foo Fighters but joked he was a bit 'out of place' in the lineup.
