Gladys Krenz receives lifesaving award from American Red Cross

Gladys "Oley" Krenz, an employee of Triumph Inc. in Jamestown, recently received the American Red Cross Lifesaving Award for Professional Responders.

Gladys "Oley" Krenz, an employee of Triumph Inc. in Jamestown, recently received the American Red Cross Lifesaving Award for Professional Responders. Krenz, who is trained in American Red Cross adult and child first aid, CPR and AED, helped save the life of a man who was choking at Triumph Inc.

ADVERTISEMENT Krenz, a direct support professional and team lead, was on duty at Triumph and the first to respond when a man standing in the lobby was in distress while eating and started gasping for air. Krenz turned the man around and administered abdominal thrusts until the object was dislodged and he was able to breathe again.



The skills learned in the American Red Cross Training Services course helped save the man's life, said the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross Lifesaving Award for Professional Responders is the highest award given by the American Red Cross to an individual or team of individuals who save or sustain a life by using the skills and knowledge learned in an American Red Cross Training Services course..
