Giuliana Gianfaldoni Steps in at Opéra de Lyon’s ‘Il Turco in Italia’

On Dec. 17, Giuliana Gianfaldoni stepped in for an ill Sara Blanch at the Opéra de Lyon in “Il Turco in Italia.” The Italian soprano sang from the side of the stage while Blanch performed the opera on stage.

Gianfaldoni recently performed “Carmina Burana” with the Orchestra dell’Accademia di Santa Cecilia and Marie in “La Fille du Régiment” at Teatro Petruzzelli. She has also performed at the Royal Opera Muscat, Teatro Regio di Torino, Ópera de Las Palmas, and Teatro de la Maestranza in Sevilla. Blanch is expected to return to the production on Dec.
