MINNEAPOLIS — Lyla Stadtherr and one of the Minnewaska/Morris girls swimming team’s relays each had top 13 finishes at the Class A state swimming and diving finals on Saturday. Stadtherr swam to a 10th-place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke in 1 minute, 8.64 seconds at the Jean K.
Freeman Aquatic Center. She is a junior for the Gators. Stadtherr was also one of the four swimmers in Minnewaska/Morris’ 200 medley relay which took 13th place in 1:53.
77. She served as the second swimmer in the four legs. Also making up the Gators’ 200 medley relay squad were senior Becca Femrite, junior Mesa Kittelson and senior Melena Longtin.
Orono won the state title with 259 points. Visitation was second at 234 points and Monticello rounded out the top three with 230 points. Class A state finals.
