ROCHESTER — Rochester Century/John Marshall ran into one of the top twams in the Big Nine Conference on Thursday night. Mankato East showed why it’s still undefeated five games into the season. The Cougars scored three times in the first, then pulled away with four goals in the second period to win 7-2 at the Rochester Recreation Center.
ADVERTISEMENT Ella Fugazzi led the Cougars (1-0-0 Big Nine, 5-0-0 overall) with a hat trick and an assist. Grace Campbell added a goal and two assists, and Emerson Asher had two assists. Daleyn Williams and Katie Nelson scored for the Panthers (1-2-0, 2-3-0 overall), while Isabella Scranton made 35 saves.
Century/JM is back in action at Northfield at 3 p.m. Saturday.
