Girls hockey: MBA falls in its season-opener

Storm beaten by Princeton/Big Lake/Becker 3-0

PRINCETON — Ava Breuer made 42 saves in Morris/Benson Area’s season-opening loss to Princeton/Big Lake/Becker on Friday night. Princeton/Big Lake/Becker earned a 3-0 victory, its first of the season, over the Storm at Princeton First Bank & Trust Ice Arena. Katelyn Chaffee’s first period goal at 8 minutes, 5 seconds proved to be the game-winning goal.

Isabel Skarohlid and Ava Prosser each added a goal in the second period. Skarohlid finished with a three-point performance, tallying two primary assists. Prosser had a two-point night as she tacked on a secondary assist on Chaffee’s goal.



Brynne Emmerich posted a 10-save shutout for Princeton/Big Lake/Becker. MBA hosts Prairie Centre at 6 p.m.
