Gippy Grewal reveals his passion for luxury cars and gifts his 17-year-old son a ₹1.47 crore..
. Read More From chart-topping songs to blockbuster Punjabi films, Gippy Grewal has carved out a powerhouse career in entertainment. But beyond the lights, cameras, and packed theatres, the actor-singer has another passion that runs deep: luxury cars.
In a recent interview with Mashable India, Gippy opened up about his love for high-end automobiles, his impressive personal collection, and how his 17-year-old son, Ekom Grewal, is already stepping into the fast lane. “I have five cars—Hummer EV, Cybertruck EV, Tesla X, and two BMWs: the new M3 and a 7 Series," Gippy shared, proudly listing his fleet. “My elder son Ekom, who’s 17 now, drives the M3.
He got his license too. Usko toh bas M3 hi chahiye. Woh kehta hai, ‘Yahi gaadi hai’ (He only wants the M3.
Says, ‘This is the car’)." For Ekom, the M3 wasn’t just a car—it was a milestone gift. “I gave it to him on his 16th birthday.
He’s in Canada, and over there, you can get a driving license at 16, provided an adult sits next to you. Now he has his full license, so he drives independently," Gippy said, smiling. “He keeps sending me videos of changes he makes to the car.
My choice has ended—it’s the kids’ choice now." And the “choice" doesn’t come cheap. According to car tracking sites, Gippy’s Hummer EV is worth approximately ₹1.
92 crore, while the Tesla Cybertruck is pegged at ₹50.70 lakh. The BMW M3, which Ekom favors, costs around ₹1.
47 crore, and the 7 Series sits between ₹1.84 and ₹1.87 crore.
It’s a garage that speaks to Gippy’s success—but also his desire to share that joy with his family. Gippy is married to Ravneet Kaur, and the couple are proud parents to three sons—Ekom, Shinda, and Gurbaaz. While Ekom may be steering the wheel these days, it’s clear Gippy is still driving things forward when it comes to his creative work.
He’s currently starring in Akaal, a Punjabi action-drama that he not only acted in but also wrote and directed. Released in theatres on April 10 in both Punjabi and Hindi, Akaal marks a significant moment for regional cinema, as it’s backed by none other than Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions—making it their first-ever foray into Punjabi films. The film follows the gripping story of Sardar Akaal Singh, played by Gippy, who must defend his village from the vengeful army of Jangi Jahan (Nikitin Dheer) after the death of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
Set in a politically charged and emotional landscape, the film explores themes of leadership, sacrifice, and resilience. It also stars singer-actor Nimrat Khaira in the lead female role, whose performance adds depth to the historical drama. Gippy shared that Akaal is close to his heart, both as an artist and as someone who’s passionate about taking Punjabi stories to a broader audience.
“With Akaal, we wanted to tell a story that’s rooted in history, but feels personal and powerful," he’s said in earlier interviews. “It’s a story of strength, of protecting what’s ours, and of rising together.".
