Giovanni Pernice, the former Strictly Come Dancing professional, might make a comeback in a special episode celebrating the show's 20th anniversary, according to rumours. The one-off episode, scheduled for December, is said to include footage of Pernice and could feature his dance with EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis from 2021. As 2024 marks two decades since the beloved dance competition first aired, the upcoming episode is expected to showcase "iconic performances and familiar faces past and present".

A source told The Sun: "Giovanni made history when he won with Rose so footage from their emotional silent performance is set to feature." The BBC has not yet confirmed or denied Giovanni's involvement, as per the report. This news follows the release of the results of a BBC investigation into Pernice's behaviour with his 2023 Strictly partner Amanda Abbington, following a series of complaints she lodged against him.

In its findings, the BBC upheld "some, but not all, of the complaints made," offered an apology to Amanda, and expressed gratitude for her participation, reports OK! . He said: "Today I'm happy because at the beginning there were very very serious allegations thrown out at me but as of today, none of the serious allegations have been upheld.

All the threatening, abusive, harassment behaviour allegations have not been upheld." In response to the report, Amanda also voiced her thoughts. She stated: "Despite this vile abuse, I've never regretted coming forward, and today's apology from the BBC is a vindication of my complaint".
