President-elect Donald J. Trump has found exactly the right person to lead the Department of Agriculture. Brooke Rollins will bring a depth of experience and a track record of excellence to her new assignment as Secretary of Agriculture.

Her leadership will improve the lives and livelihoods of millions of Americans. Brooke’s background is almost perfect for the agriculture assignment. She grew up on a farm.

She was active in 4H and Future Farmers of America. She became a state officer in FFA. She went on to Texas A&M where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Development (cum laude).

She was also the first woman elected as President of the student body in A&M history. Ranking Member @JohnBoozman met with USDA Secretary nominee Brooke Rollins. “I am encouraged by her determination, commitment and resolve to help rural families thrive.

Rick Perry . She then became President and CEO of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, which she turned from a two-person, almost bankrupt institution into the most influential state-level conservative think tank in the country during her 15-year tenure. President Trump brought her into the White House in the American Innovation Office and then made her director of the Domestic Policy Council.

After the 2020 election, Brooke launched the America First Policy Institute and turned it into the most powerful planning and policy organization preparing for the second Trump term. As I wrote in November , AFPI has been the intellectual engine behind the Make America Great Again movement and played a crucial role in returning President Trump to the White House. Rollins has done all this while raising four children.

I’ve known Rollins for almost a quarter-century. She is one of the most extraordinary Americans I have ever met. Rollins is incredibly strategic.

Her ability to organize people to solve difficult problems is amazingly impressive. She can take on a tremendous number of parallel challenges and solve them. She is a remarkable leader.

Rollins totally understands the Make America Great Again movement – and President Trump’s vision for the country. Bidenomics has been deeply destructive to American agriculture and rural America. Furthermore, the Agriculture Department includes food stamps.

Nutrition programs are 80 percent of the USDA budget. (RELATED: ‘A Devastating Impact’: Harris’s Silence On Key Biden Policy Leaves American Farmers In The Lurch) We need real leadership to help agriculture and rural America – and to move us back toward a system which rewards work and independence similar to what we passed in the 1996 welfare reform legislation. If the Senate confirms her — as it absolutely should — I’m confident that Rollins will be one of the most effective and intelligent Secretaries of Agriculture we have ever had.

She will work to make sure American farmers are able to work and succeed no matter their size. She will make sure the USDA runs efficiently and keeps America’s food supplies abundant, affordable, and safe. Rollins’ leadership and vision will bring the USDA into a new era of strength by securing America’s agricultural foundations.

She has what it takes to move the department’s present-day bureaucracy back toward its core mission, for the benefit of the country and its farmers alike. When the Senate reconvenes in the new year, it will have the business of the nation before it — including confirming the strong nominees sent by President-elect Trump. The Senators ought to know that Brooke Rollins is exactly who America needs as Secretary of Agriculture.
