Gina Rinehart inks $1.1b gas deal with Chris Ellison’s MinRes

The acquisition marks the latest partnership between Australia’s wealthiest person and Ellison, who is currently under investigation by his board.

Login Australia’s richest person Gina Rinehart has bought two onshore gas projects from Mineral Resources for up to $1.1 billion and inked a joint venture deal to explore tenements in nearby basins in Western Australia.

The deal is the latest tie-up between Mrs Rinehart and billionaire founder and managing director of Mineral Resources, Chris Ellison, who is currently under investigation by his own board for allegations of tax evasion exposed by The Australian Financial Review.
