New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers made headlines following the team's 28-3 loss to the division rival Philadelphia Eagles, seemingly criticizing quarterback Daniel Jones for not throwing to him enough. "Watch the target tape. I was open," Nabers told reporters after the game Sunday.
He caught only four balls on eight targets for 41 yards . Jones, however, shrugged off his top producer's comments on Friday, spinning it into a positive for the team. "I think it's good that a receiver thinks he's open, for sure," Jones said .
"I think you want a receiver to think he's open." Later Friday, Nabers was asked about his earlier heated assessment, but he preferred to move on to Monday's Week 8 contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers. "That's something I said last week and last game.
It's a new week. I don't want to talk about it," he told reporters . Nabers was quick to heap praise on Jones, adding that he's the "same leader, same energetic guy.

The Giants (2-5) are in desperate need of a win, but a prime-time matchup with the red-hot Steelers (5-2) on "Monday Night Football" will be yet another difficult task..
