Ghost of Yotei release date window possibly leaked and is very close

There are a lot of great games to anticipate for 2025. Obviously, the biggest is GTA 6, but there are upcoming PlayStation exclusives with arguably the most exciting being Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to the excellent Ghost of Tsushima. While Assassin’s Creed Shadows has scratched the itch for sword fighting in Japan right now, an alleged leak claims that the release date window for Ghost of Yotei is very close.

Ghost of Yotei release date window leakAccording to DetectiveSeeds on X, the alleged release date window for Ghost of Yotei is “mid to late July”. This is by no means official as all we know about the sequel right now is that it is targeting 2025.While this would be surprising considering how little of the game we have seen, in the replies DetectiveSeeds explained Sony “are doing some of the shorter marketing cycles just as they did with Ragnarok”.



While delays are always possible, the supposed plan from Sony with their big IPs is to “push it out with 2 months of heavy marketing”.Although mid-to-late July is the original claim, the leaker has also clarified that another source has told them “mid to late August”. Supposedly, the mid-to-late August source “has missed a bit,” meanwhile, the one who said “mid to late July has been spot on with info”.

If Ghost of Yotei is to come out this year, then July and August actually do appear safe bets as publishers want to avoid competing with GTA 6 in Fall, and there are also rumors of a new God of War game coming out this year, too. This new God of War game is reportedly a smaller-sized experience similar to the Miles Morales standalone for Spider-Man.

Hopefully Ghost of Yotei does come out as rumored. Ghost of Tsushima was one of the best experiences on PS4, and we’re eagerly anticipating Sucker Punch’s second foray into Japan.In other gaming news, a day-one GOTY contender is coming to PS Plus Extra early in April.
