Excelsior Sports Correspondent JAMMU, Sept 18: The Inter-Collegiate Football Tournament started today with an exhilarating inauguration at GGM Science College. The event was graced by Dr. S.
P. Sarswat, Principal of PSPS GCW Gandhi Nagar and Nodal Principal for Jammu Division Colleges, who served as the chief guest. Joining him were Dr.
Naven Anand, Dean of Academic Affairs at Cluster University Jammu, and Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of GGM Science College.
Organized under the supervision of Prof. Gupta and Dr. Vinod Kumar Bakshi, Director of Physical Education, the event also featured vibrant contributions from NCC Cadets, led by Dr.
Shafia Saleem and Dr. Davinder Kumar. A rousing Police Pipe Band performance added to the festive atmosphere.
The first match saw MAM College Jammu defeat SPMR Commerce College with a 2-0 victory, thanks to goals from Vishavjeet Singh and Rakshit. The match was officiated by Aman Sudan and others, under the presence of Physical Directors from various colleges. In his presidential address, Prof.
Sarswat emphasized the importance of sportsmanship, unity, and talent, inspiring players to compete with passion and excellence. The tournament promises to celebrate the spirit of sports and camaraderie among participating colleges..
