Getting warmer in Metro Detroit, back to chilly after spring equinox

A warmer air mass will push over Michigan on Tuesday. Under a mix of sunshine and clouds, temperatures will peak in the 60- to 65-degree range in most of Southeast Michigan.

Monday’s highs in the 40s were a return to normal, but warmer weather is also returning. Monday night’s skies will be mostly clear to partly cloudy. Lows will be around 35 degrees, with winds out of the south-southeast at 5 to 15 mph.



Tuesday A warmer air mass will push over Michigan on Tuesday. Under a mix of sunshine and clouds, temperatures will peak in the 60- to 65-degree range in most of Southeast Michigan. Temperatures in lakeside communities will not rise above the 50s.

This will be the case near the shoreline of Lake Huron and some locations near Lake Erie. The weather will be ideal for a day at the park, an extended jog or dog walk, or drone flying. Southerly winds will be 5 to 15 mph.

Clouds will increase Tuesday night. Low will be in the upper 40s to 50 degrees. Wednesday Plan for temperatures in the mid to upper 60s on Wednesday, but it will be mostly cloudy and breezy.

Rain showers will get closer to Southeast Michigan in the evening, and rain will be likely at night. A few thunderstorms will be possible, and an isolated storm could become strong west of Metro Detroit. Lenawee County and a portion of southwestern Washtenaw County are under a marginal risk of severe weather late Wednesday night.

Temperature will fall to the mid 30s to lower 40s. Thursday Spring will arrive at 5:01 a.m.

Thursday, but we will get another taste of winter. Expect rain Thursday morning when temperatures will be warmest. Highs will be in the lower 50s to start the day, but temperatures will tumble during the rest of the day.

The rain will transition to mixed precipitation and snow as afternoon temperatures fall into the 30s. The breezy conditions will lead to wind chills in the 20s. Under mostly clear to partly cloudy skies, Thursday night’s temperatures will fall into the mid 20s to 30 degrees.

Friday Expect tranquil weather on Friday. Under partly cloudy skies, highs will be in the lower 50s. Saturday Highs will be in the lower 50s on Saturday, but we will have rain and snow showers in the morning and early afternoon.
