It’s the most wonderful time of the year - if you love watching top notch telly! On Saturday (December 14, 2024) you’ll find a bumper Christmas edition of Love TV magazine free inside your Daily Mirror newspaper. This 19-day guide to all the best festive films and Christmas specials will make it easy to find out when all your favourite shows are on - and make sure you don’t miss a moment of Christmas magic. On Christmas Day Gavin and Stacey is back after five years and we’re excited to find out if Smith accepted Nessa’s proposal - and what went down on THAT fishing trip.
In Doctor Who Ncuti Gatwa’s Time Lord is joined by Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan with a festive outing called Joy To The World. The Outnumbered gang are also making a comeback, and this time Pete and Sue are empty nesters who have become grandparents thanks to Jake’s little daughter. It’s a double bill from Call The Midwife which airs on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day! Nonnatus House is buzzing with the usual Christmas cheer, while Trixie makes a flying visit from New York! Things take a darker turn when cases of influenza start to rise and it’s announced an escaped prisoner is on the loose! More nostalgia comes from All Creatures Great And Small which sees Christmas come to Skeldale House despite the war raging and rations putting an end to almost all festive treats.
And Strictly Come Dancing returns after barely a break with a Christmas Special. This time Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are welcoming Josh Widdicombe, Billy Monger, Tayce, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Vogue Williams and Tamzin Outhwaite. And if you are a Claudia faithful, then you’ll also be thrilled to hear that The Traitors is making a sneaky return! There are plenty of cooking shows to inspire how you treat your turkey this year.
Not only do we have Ainsley’s Festive Flavours, but Mary Berry has got her sparkle on to bring us Mary Makes Christmas. Not to be outdone Jamie Oliver looks cuddly in a Christmas jumper as he brings yet more pukka ways to eat your brussels sprouts. Our essential guide not only brings you the best in Christmas TV - it also takes us up to New Year’s Day, when the drama really kicks off.
And top of our January watch list is Brenda Blethyn’s Vera. After this series, the iconic detective is hanging up her bucket hat for good, so make sure you get your hands on our bumper TV guide, stay in and don’t miss out! So make sure you get your hands on one and pick up a copy of the Daily Mirror this Saturday, December 14! And then you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the festivities.
