Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck has had a less than ideal 2024 season against punishing SEC defenses, but the signal-caller is still generating NFL draft buzz. Beck was once projected to be the first quarterback picked in the 2025 NFL draft, but is now fighting to be selected in the first round. Athlon Sports' Luke Easterling now has Beck falling out of the first round in his latest mock draft.

Heading into Week 12, Beck had thrown seven interceptions in a three-game span. Not an ideal stat for a prospect looking to eventually take over an NFL offense. Yet, not everyone is convinced that Beck's NFL draft stock has cratered.

Petre Thomas-Imagn Images Pro Football Network's Kent Platte still projects Beck as a top-10 pick citing Georgia's challenging schedule as a contributing factor in the quarterback's struggles. The analyst has Beck going to the New York Jets with the No. 8 pick in his latest mock draft.

"Enter Carson Beck, who has flashed the kind of upside you need to turn an NFL franchise around," Platte wrote on Nov. 16. "He’s not a perfect prospect, hence why he’s QB4 in this mock, but no one would accuse Georgia of facing a cupcake schedule.

Beck is one of those players when he’s on, he’s on, but when he’s off, he’s really off, and that’ll likely turn off some. "His size, arm talent, and above-average athleticism make him a very intriguing prospect for building a franchise around, however, and it wouldn’t hurt to start him off with Garrett Wilson and the company." Aaron Rodgers still has one more season remaining on a three-year, $112.

5 million contract . The selection of Beck makes some sense for the Jets and gives New York a quarterback to develop for the future, even if Rodgers returns in 2025. Beck still has some work to do in order to solidify himself as a top-10 pick.

Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman reported that some NFL scouts currently project Beck as a "middle-round guy." "A guy who a lot of NFL scouts were talking about as first-round projected, now they're talking about him as a possible middle-round guy." @BruceFeldmanCFB has the latest on Carson Beck's struggles ⬇️ pic.
