The Georgia Bulldogs will be patiently waiting to see where they stand in the first batch of College Football Playoff projections. While the Bulldogs have just one loss on the year (against Alabama), the product on the field has looked inconsistent at times. In Week 10, Georgia had some struggles against an underwhelming Florida team, although the Bulldogs beat the Gators 34-20 in Athens.

Still, the play of quarterback Carson Beck has become a major talking point. Beck, who entered the season as a popular first-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft, has thrown for 2,302 yards with 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. In 2023, Beck threw just six interceptions, so turnovers have been an issue for the signal-caller.

After the Florida showdown, former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray shared his assessment of Beck's recent play, per Grant Hughes of Dawgs247 . "Carson is just forcing it," Murray said.

"He's trying to make plays. He's trying to compensate for not having the type of receivers he did last year. He doesn't need to do that.

" Murray continued with another comment about Beck forcing the ball. "The first two turnovers were on Carson," Murray stated. "You can't force footballs.

This is something he didn't do a year ago." In 2023, Beck threw for 3,738 yards with 22 touchdowns and only six interceptions, far better numbers than this season. Before the season, Beck was projected as a first-round quarterback, and Gilbert Manzano of Sports Illustrated even had Beck going as the first QB at No.

5 overall. However, things have changed since then, and Murray gave an update on Beck's current NFL draft assessment. "I thought Carson was the top quarterback in the (2025) NFL Draft entering the season, but he dropped himself out of the first round," Murray said.

At this rate, Beck's play in 2024 has him sliding down NFL draft boards , although Georgia is still in contention for an SEC title game spot and a College Football Playoff berth. If Beck turns it around, he could re-enter first-round territory. Related: College Football Quarterback’s NFL Draft Stock Plummets Amidst Senior Season Struggles.
