The stars were out on Broadway on Thursday, April 3, as the George Clooney -led production of Good Night, and Good Luck opened in New York City. Photographers snapped photos of A-list attendees, as well as the play's cast and creative team, as they walked the red carpet outside the Winter Garden Theatre prior to the performance. Guests later gathered to celebrate opening at a swanky black tie afterparty held at the New York Public Library.
A stage adaptation of the 2005 film of the same name, Good Night, and Good Luck tells the real-life story of CBS news journalist Edward R. Murrow's legendary exposé on Senator Joseph McCarthy. Clooney plays Murrow in the political drama — a performance that marks the Oscar-winning actor's Broadway debut.
Like the film, Clooney also co-wrote the piece alongside screenwriter Grant Heslov. Fittingly, among the famous faces at the event were a sea of the nation's top broadcast journalists, including Pamela Brown , Willie Geist , Gayle King , George Stephanopoulos , Lesley Stahl , Jake Tapper and Chris Wallace . Other stars gathered for the occasion included Clooney's longtime friend Richard Kind , as well as Kylie Minogue , Jim Parsons , Matthew Rhys , Uma Thurman , Hugh Jackman , Cindy Crawford and Jennifer Lopez .
The evening also marked a reunion for Clooney with his former ER costars Julianna Margulies and Anthony Edwards .
