Genesis BBQ Group announced on November 25 that it successfully hosted a one-day meal event themed "Taste of Korea" at Democracy Harlem School in Manhattan, New York. The one-day meal event took place during lunch on November 21, where students, faculty, and stakeholders voted in advance to select BBQ chicken as the "most desired K-food." In response, BBQ provided 500 servings of a "BBQ Chicken Lunch Box Set," which included Golden Olive Boneless Chicken, sausage and rice skewers (so-tteok so-tteok), and sandwiches, along with "BBQ Lemon Boy" (a sparkling beverage).
BBQ also fully sponsored all costs associated with the event. Through this event, BBQ aimed to widely promote the flavors of Korea in the United States and enhance its brand recognition. Notably, BBQ contributed to the globalization of K-food by running a brand advertisement in Times Square, New York, for a month in July.
As part of its collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization and the "Gastrodiplomacy" initiative, BBQ is launching the "One Bite to Korea Campaign" to showcase the excellence of Korean chicken and K-food overseas. "We are very pleased to promote K-food through our Times Square advertisement and collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization, and it is meaningful for us to provide BBQ chicken at this high school meal event," said an official from Genesis BBQ..
