WHAT'S NEXT: City administrator Brandon Maeglin opened the lone bid received for farming 11 acres at the renewable energy site on the south side of town. The city was looking for a low-profile crop for the area. Tim Gould is offering $235 per acre in a five-year lease to grow soybeans the first year for weed control and then alfalfa.
Ald. Craig Arnold asked if the city could check to be sure $235 is a fair price. Maeglin said the city would put it to a vote in January in order to have time to review the bid.
