AI-driven chatbots have quickly become an integral part of everyday life, assisting with everything from answering basic queries to planning entire trips. Despite their usefulness, a key hurdle for many users remains — crafting the right prompt. When users manage to express themselves clearly, AI chatbots tend to deliver helpful responses.

But once the prompt loses clarity, the output can become confusing or irrelevant. To address this, Google is now trying a new feature in its Gemini app called the “Power Button”, which aims to help users improve the quality of their prompts. The feature could lead to more accurate and context-aware responses for the chatbot by refining the original user input.

A report by Android Authority revealed that Google is testing a new Gemini feature to help users phrase prompts more effectively. It was seen within the Gemini app’s file attachment interface, where changes also suggest that the Deep Research and Canvas tools will move to the homepage. This would make room for the newly added “Power Button” aimed at enhancing prompt construction.

This update could benefit users who often struggle to phrase their questions in a way the AI can understand. The new functionality reportedly allows users to type their prompt — even if it’s incomplete — and then click the “Power Up” button. The app then rewrites the prompt with improved tone, structure, and clarity, helping the AI respond more effectively.

Such a tool may be especially helpful for those unfamiliar with how to phrase AI prompts or who feel unsure about how to engage with chatbots effectively. By simplifying the communication process, it could improve the user experience considerably. As of now, this new “Power Button” is still in the testing phase and not yet widely available.

Google is expected to include it in future updates to the Gemini app, though it may roll out quietly rather than through a major announcement..
