"Ubermensch" is the singer-rapper's third studio album, with his last being "Coup D'etat," which came out in September 2013. The title of the new album came from the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche, referring to the ideal individual who transcends conventional values and societal limitations, according to Galaxy Corporation.

Through the album, the singer-songwriter aims to showcase a stronger, more resilient side of himself — one that has overcome his own challenges, the company added. The album features eight tracks, including the lead track "Too Bad" and B-sides, such as "Power" and "Home Sweet Home," which topped local music charts upon their prerelease late last year. "Too Bad" is an upbeat track featuring American singer-songwriter Anderson Paak.

K-pop girl group aespa's Karina made a special appearance in the music video for the song. On the ballad "Drama," G-Dragon sings portions in English, Chinese and Japanese, accompanied by lyrical piano. The album's tracks achieved high rankings on major music charts, including Melon and Genie, upon their release.

As of 4 p.m., all eight tracks had been placed within Melon's Top 100, with "Too Bad" at No.
