GB News today confirmed a "rollercoaster day on the stock market" following Donald Trump's latest announcements.

GB News was halted for a "breaking news" announcement as the stock markets opened. A financial expert revealed she was "cautiously optimistic" about the UK's financial future, but warned the UK "isn't out of the woods" yet. This comes as the FTSE100 jumped again and Donald Trump appeared to back down on some of his more draconian tariff plans.

Jennifer Powers spoke of how Brits were dreading a "doomsday scenario", had the trade tariffs gone ahead at the rates he'd originally planned to impose. She stated that the UK was in a "better position" than yesterday as the stock markets are now open and European markets are reacting to the welcome tariff pause. GB hosts such as Ellie Costello asked what could have prompted Trump's sudden change of heart.

"Did the market spook him or was that the game plan all along?" she quizzed. Jennifer suggested it was a mixture of both, while also referencing "splits" among members of his "top team". Elon Musk was said to have been furious with the decisions made by Trump's "tariffs tzar" Peter Navarro, branding him a "moron" and "dumber than a stack of bricks" as he faced financial losses.

Unrepentant Navarro insisted that Tesla car parts ought to be manufactured on home-grown soil in the USA, rather than China, Japan or Taiwan. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt downplayed the war of words, dismissing that they merely had "very different views on trade and on tariffs". She added: "Boys will be boys, and we will let their public sparring continue.

" Although Trump's huge tariff increases sparked alarm and instability among some, the US President stated: "[Other countries] ripped us off left and right...

now it's our turn to do the ripping." This is a breaking live TV story, the Showbiz Express.co.
