Gautam Adani (and family) is now crowned the richest Indian per the latest Hurun Rich India report, with Mukesh Ambani sliding to 2nd rank despite having a setback due to Hindenburg's allegation over SEBI chief’s shares in Adani-related offshore companies. The same is not reflected on the Forbes or Bloomberg’s billionaire index, where Mukesh Ambani still comfortably leads the table. HCL’s founder Shiv Nadar and family clinched the third position with a wealth of Rs 314,000 crore. During the fiscal year, India saw the emergence of wealth for the privileged, with 334 new billionaires marking a 29% year-on-year increase. China, on the other hand, witnessed a 25% decline in the number of billionaires.

The global Bollywood icon who owns the IPL team, the Kolkata Knight Riders has a wealth of Rs 7,300 crore. Co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders and fellow Bollywood star Juhi Chawla also entered the list with a wealth of Rs 4,600 crore.
The other cinestar to enter the list is Hrithik Roshan, with a wealth of Rs 2,000 crore. The Bachchan family and Karan Johar took the fourth and fifth spots among Bollywood stars to feature on the Hurun Rich Indian List 2024, with a wealth of Rs 1,600 crore and Rs 1,400 crore, respectively.
