Gary police investigating man found dead with gunshot wound

Officers were dispatched at approximately 11:43 p.m. to assist the Gary Fire Department at a residence on the 3700 block of Broadway, according to a Facebook post from the Gary Police Department.

When police arrived, firefighters advised them of the deceased man with the gunshot wound. Police identified the man as a 50-year-old from Gary. The Lake County Coroner's Office has not yet released the name of the individual.



Officers secured the scene and contacted the Lake County Prosecutor's Homicide Task Force, Lake County Sheriff's Crime Scene Investigators and the coroner's office. Gary police are urging anyone with information regarding this incident to call the Lake County Prosecutor's Homicide Task Force at 219-755-3855..
