A food label that has been hailed as a "game-changer" for garden health is finally being understood by the public. The green and white label, reading "Home OK Compost ", features three arrows pointing down to a flower , indicating that the product packaging is home compostable. But what does this mean? How can such packaging enhance your garden's health? Ethique, an eco-friendly beauty brand, took to TikTok to explain their home-compostable packaging, revealing its benefits.

In the video, Ethique explained that their packaging "can be composted right at home". Using their packaging as an example, they explained that this kind of packaging "can be composted right at home". This is because it contains "no plastic, no laminate, no chlorines, and is certified home compostable".

So how should you dispose of this type of packaging?, asks the Mirror. According to Ethique, once you're finished with it, simply tear it into small pieces and add it to your compost for worms to enjoy. You can just pop these torn up pieces of home compostable packaging directly into your compost heap.

If you don't have a compost heap, these torn-up pieces can be planted in the soil or added to potted plants, providing additional nourishment for your plants. Packaging Supplies, a packaging supply firm, highlights the uniqueness of home compostable packaging. It states that it "doesn't generate the required heat to meet industrial guidelines" and "the optimum temperature for home composting varies between 45-65°C," making it perfect for home composting.
