Samsung is preparing to unveil the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which will be equipped with a customized variant of Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, specifically designed as a “For Galaxy” edition. This chipset, manufactured using a 3nm process, is expected to deliver significant enhancements compared to its predecessors, with Qualcomm claiming a 45% increase in CPU performance and a 44% improvement in power efficiency. This indicates an approximate 35% increase in single-core performance and a 45% rise in multi-core performance compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which recorded scores of around 2,200 and 7,100 in the same tests. Previously, the S25 Ultra had been listed on the platform with single-core and multi-core scores of 3,069 and 9,080, respectively, suggesting improvements in heat dissipation or performance optimization that allow the device to achieve higher scores.
Although Samsung had been evaluating its own Exynos 2500 chipset for the Galaxy S25 series, it seems to have opted for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for mass production, potentially restricting the Exynos 2500 to specific markets. While the initial scores of the Galaxy S25 Ultra are slightly below those of the OnePlus 13’s standard Snapdragon 8 Elite (3,296 in single-core), Samsung’s “For Galaxy” chip tuning may enhance performance and stability further by the time the device is released.
