Gabby Logan has thrown her weight behind the Welsh Women’s Six Nations star who was criticised for recording a post-match TikTok video. Wales ace Jasmine Joyce-Butchers recorded a video with opponent Sarah Bern, with the full-back slammed for the stunt, which occurred just moments after England’s 64-12 victory in Cardiff. It occurred live on the BBC ’s post-match coverage of the mauling, with Bern and Joyce-Butchers performing the viral ‘Chicken, Banana’ dance for a video that gained over 170,000 views on TikTok .
And while she admitted there were fears it could be perceived negatively, Logan, who had been presenting the post-match analysis, claims the pair were only partaking in a spot of harmless fun. Speaking on The Sports Agents podcast, Logan explained: “I kind of knew this would go one way or the other with the people watching, the audience watching. Half of those, I would say, who are commenting think it's a great idea to see young women having fun around sport, and half of those commenting seem to think it was a very bad idea and is not serious enough.
.. “They are taking their sport by the scruff of the neck, by looking at a kind of whole new landscape, and deciding how they want to be in sport.
For me, women's rugby is a very joyous occasion. The crowd are just having a great time.” When the post-match interview gets interrupted for a TikTok dance ?????? #BBCRugby #W6N pic.

The incoming Match of the Day host added: “It reminds me a bit, of kind, when I went to the Hong Kong Sevens for the first time. There's serious sport going on, but people are having are having a really good time. And I just wonder sometimes if we lose sight of that, that you can have both.
.. “I like the fact that a lot of the female sports women are not scared to tell us about their other passions.
You know, life is not just this kind of real linear thing that is just sport, sport, sport. It is a balancing act, and maybe that's what they're working out how far you push it.” England women return to Six Nations action next weekend when they take on Ireland at Musgrave Park in Cork.
Wales, still without a victory, face France in their next outing..
