A DAY of Easter fun is inspired by and raising funds for a ten-year-old boy with cancer. Next weekend, Prested Hall in Feering will host more than a hundred happy children and families for a day of fun and games inspired by a little boy. Freddie McIntosh-Brown, from Hatfield Peverel, was diagnosed with a soft tissue cancer in June 2023.

Since the diagnosis, brave Freddie has endured nine rounds of chemo and seven weeks of radio therapy, and a further 12 months of maintenance care. Freddie’s story has already inspired fundraising efforts in Earls Colne, where Witham football coach Richard Hearn raised more than £15,000 for cancer charities which had helped Freddie on his journey. Now, the ten-year-old is the inspiration for another day of fundraising, with all the funds going to him and his family.

Event - The Easter fundraiser for Freddie will take place at Prested Hall on Sunday (Image: Google Maps) Jenna Jarvis-Brown, 38, lives in Witham and wanted to help Freddie after she came across his story. With the support of Prested Hall, Jenna has organised pony rides, an outdoor escape room, an egg hunt in the grounds, face painting, a bouncy castle, and a visit from Spirit of the Wild animals with animal shows of meerkats and hedgehogs throughout the day. There will also be more than 40 stalls of handmade crafts and goods for adults, such as wax melts, jewellery and clothes, as well as seven spiritual mediums and spiritual healers offering head massages, raking meditation and more.

Guests can also enjoy a sweet truck, an ice cream truck, pizzas, burgers, apple crumble, and more street food. Activities - There will be all sorts of fun and games for kids to enjoy, such as Pony Pals horse rides and Spirit of the Wild animal shows (Image: Jenna Jarvis, Pony Pals) Jenna said: “I’m raising money for Freddie because he’s been raising money for children like him with cancer. “He did an advert on Facebook asking for people to donate raffle prizes to raise funds for children with cancer, and I’m a medium, so I donated a 30-minute reading to him.

“But I decided to do our own event for him so he can make his own memories. “I also wanted to show appreciation to him for what he’s done, and to for him to know as a child that if you do nice things for people, it comes back. “With all that he’s going through, he’s still raising money and being so positive—it’s amazing.

” Stalls - There will also be plenty for adults to enjoy, with Sarah Ball's boho clothes, Coastal Wellness and more at the hall (Image: Jenna Jarvis, Coastal Wellness, Sarah Ball) The event is £2.50 to enter the hall, with no extra cost to see the animal shows. Every penny from the stalls is “going straight back to Freddie”.

Freddie’s event is on Sunday, April 6, from 11am to 4pm at Prested Hall..
