Several bus services will be diverted or missing stops this weekend due to repair works. A number of roads will be closed this weekend, including part of the Queen's Medical Centre roundabout, so that repair works can take place on an A52 bridge. The bridge was damaged by a lorry carrying an excavator in 2018 and repair works are expected to cause some disruption until summer 2025.
From 8pm on Friday, October 18, to 6am on Monday, October 21, the following roads will be closed: As a result of these closures, Trentbarton and Nottingham City Transport have had to alter some services. Trentbarton will be diverting its i4, Indigo and Red Arrow buses. The diversion for the Red Arrow and i4 service will be via Woodside Road, Abbey Bridge, University Boulevard and Lenton Boulevard.
Indigo will be diverted via Abbey Bridge and Lenton Boulevard. The transport operator is advising customers who want to use the Queen's Medical Centre to use the Abbey Street stop. Buses will miss several stops whilst travelling towards Nottingham only.
This includes Charles Avenue, Wollaton Park Gates, Lenton Hall, North Entrance, QMC Main Entrance, QMC, Hillside, Triumph Road and Faraday Road. Nottingham City Transport will also have a number of its services impacted by the closures. This includes the 34, 34C, 35, 35A, 35B, 36, 36U, 53, 53B and 54 buses.
On its website, NCT states: "Bridge repairs and utility works are taking place on the QMC roundabout until summer 2025. These works will delay services, especially at peak times.".
