Free-to-Play Shooter FragPunk Finally Comes to PS5 Later This Month

NetEase has announced a console release date for its stylish free-to-play multiplayer shooter, FragPunk . Following a last-minute delay , the game will now launch on PS5 on 29th April 2025. The announcement comes via a new trailer, combining gameplay clips with slick cinematics.

If you've not heard of it, FragPunk's core idea is a series of cards you can activate mid-match that apply all kinds of effects that bend the rules. There are over 100 of these, and with 10 players in the game's team-based rounds, that means a lot of potential chaos as everyone uses their cards. On top of the card system, this is a hero shooter, with 12 unique characters with specialised abilities.



Gameplay is fast and twitchy, with a short TTK (time-to-kill) and rounds typically lasting less than three minutes each. So, in a couple of weeks, you'll be able to hop into the action and check it out for yourself. The game features cross-play and cross-progression with the PC version, and console players will receive some in-game gifts by way of apology for the delay.
