The NHS is running the clinics from April 7 to April 17 at eight venues across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. They will offer routine childhood vaccinations, including those against measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR), HPV, diphtheria, tetanus, polio, meningitis, and sepsis. The clinics will also offer the RSV vaccine for those who are at least 28 weeks pregnant and the whooping cough jab for those who are 16 weeks pregnant or more.
The walk-in clinics are a partnership between NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough and Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust. No appointment is necessary to attend any of these walk-in clinics, and all vaccinations are completely free of charge. Cali Makewell, integrated vaccination service programme lead with NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, said: "We want to help parents and carers across the area protect their children from serious illness.
"That’s why we’re organising a series of walk-in vaccination clinics so that children in eligible age groups can get the vaccines they need, quickly and easily. "We know life can be busy, so the school holidays are a perfect time for eligible children to get vaccinated. "You don’t need to book an appointment; just turn up and give your child the protection they need.
" Further details on these half-term vaccination clinics, including eligibility for each vaccine type, can be found at www.cpics.org.
