Brighton tea lovers can enjoy a free cup of a new twist on Earl Grey. Bird & Blend Tea Co.s giving away free drinks to celebrate the findings of a recent survey.
The survey, commissioned by the company, revealed that 85 per cent of Brits are ready to break away from traditional customs, including the standard way of making tea. The results showed that 24 per cent of those surveyed wanted to rewrite the rules of tea, opting for more experimental options like matcha and fruit teas instead of the usual milk and two sugars. The survey of 2,000 UK adults also found that 37 per cent believe the standard 9-to-5 workday is outdated, favouring flexible working hours instead.
It also highlighted that 29 per cent feel breaking traditions opens the door to fresh thinking, with this belief being most popular among Gen Z at 38 per cent. The survey also revealed that Brits are ready to mix up food traditions, with 86 per cent saying they are eager to leave behind certain customs like black pudding in a full English breakfast, Brussels sprouts at Christmas, and sugary milky tea. Other long-standing customs like marriage expectations, sending personal cards or invites, and sitting down for large family dinners were also on the list that Brits are happy to part ways with.
Bird & Blend Tea Co. is celebrating these findings by encouraging the public to become "traitors to tradition". From April 25 to 27, every one of its 25 stores across the UK, including its shops in Brighton Beach, Brighton Laines, and Worthing, will be giving away a free tea from its new range of Earl Grey teas, all of which have a modern twist on the traditional brew.
The new Earl Grey line-up includes Smoky Earl Grey, a bold and complex blend with Lapsang Souchong, Elderflower Earl Grey, which is light, floral, and refreshingly modern, Chocolate Earl Grey, a decadent afternoon tea twist, and Caramel Earl Grey, which is perfectly rich, creamy, and utterly indulgent. The free tea giveaway is available in all Bird & Blend Tea Co. stores.
