A Crawley shopping centre is set to host free music-making sessions for young people. From next month, County Mall will become the home of a new pop-up space launched by not-for-profit organisation AudioActive, in partnership with Creative Crawley. The venue will be part of The Creative Village initiative, which aims to promote creative industries across the region.
The space will officially open next month and will remain open for one month, celebrating youth creativity. Aspiring rappers, producers, vocalists, and beat makers are encouraged to explore their talents in a supportive environment. One of the highlights of the programme is a Rap Masterclass and Cypher with UK music legend Donae’o on Wednesday, April 9, followed by the Kustom Vibes Showcase and Album Launch Party with Mak 10 on Thursday, April 24, showcasing rising stars from the local music scene.
Alongside these key dates, AudioActive will host weekly sessions, giving young people the chance to develop skills, build confidence, and make music in a collaborative space. Whether you're stepping into the booth for the first time or refining your craft, all sessions are completely free with donation-based tickets available via Eventbrite. AudioActive will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays throughout the Easter holidays, providing a space for young people to develop their skills whilst school is on pause.
Beyond those dates, AudioActive will also be delivering a Production and Djing session on Mondays, Beats and Bars on Wednesdays, and a Rap and Vocals workshop on Thursdays. These events and sessions are part of The Creative Village, a partnership between Creative Crawley, Theatre Centre, and AudioActive to develop and support creative industries and infrastructure. The project is funded by Arts Council England, Crawley Borough Council, Sussex Community Foundation, and London Gatwick.
