Disney+ has confirmed the air date for a new tell-all documentary on the former England cricketer Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff’s Top Gear crash. The special film, named Flintoff, will look at the impact the horror crash had on the TV presenter while filming the BBC show Top Gear in 2022. The documentary will also look at Flintoff’s career prior to the event, including when he won two Ashes series.
It will also show the Preston-born star’s return to cricket after the crash at the Top Gear test track at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey. Disney+ confirms air date for Freddie Flintoff documentary Discussing the Disney+ film, Flintoff said: “Cricket’s always been a massive part of my life, shaping who I am. “Looking back on the highs and the lows, including the challenges I’ve faced since my accident, has been a real reminder of why my career in the sport has meant so much.
” Flintoff’s crash left him with facial and rib injuries, and he has made a steady return to the public eye since. He rejoined the England cricket team’s backroom staff for their T20 series against the West Indies last year, and in September 2024, the England Lions named him as head coach.
