DETROIT LAKES — Daryl Jacob Aho, 37, of rural Frazee, has been charged in Becker County District Court with three counts of felony theft.According to court records, in the summer of 2024, Aho allegedly took and pawned several firearms from a shop and farm he worked at on County Road 151.A .
45 caliber M1911 Rock Island Armory pistol with customized rubber grips on the handle was recovered. Still missing were a 10-22 Ruger with a scope and a 10-22 Stevens Rifle bolt action with a squirrel on the stock.On March 13, Aho was released without bail, under standard conditions that include no contact with the victims and no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons.
His next appearance is set for April 21 before District Judge Michelle Lawson.Fargo man accused of Detroit Lakes theftsJeffery Wayne Stevenson, 33, of Fargo, has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony theft.According to court records, on Sept.
9, 2024, a Becker County deputy was dispatched to a storage unit on Highway 10 in rural Becker County.Thefts from multiple storage units there were ultimately reported, including a PSE Fang-type crossbow from one unit; a $3,000 welder and $1,500 plasma cutter from another unit, and missing items including 80 muskie lures valued up to $150 per lure from a third unit.A fourth victim reported a $250 dollar tackle box was stolen.
Entry was apparently gained through the rafters.In total, items with an estimated value of over $11,000 were stolen. On Nov.
27, 2024, a Becker County sheriff’s investigator received information from a confidential informant directing him to investigate Stevenson and another person regarding the storage unit thefts.Stevenson and the other person had allegedly been renting a storage unit at the same facility as the units that had been broken into on Sept. 9.
They had been at the unit that night and recently purchased a new storage unit, also on the premises, and had been there to move stuff into their new unit.The investigator used a pawn shop record-checking service and found that Stevenson had pawned a PSE Fang bow on Sept. 20.
He had also pawned many other items, including items that fit the description of the ones stolen from the storage units.On Dec. 8, 2024, the investigator met with Stevenson, who admitted he committed the theft and returned a Cabela’s tackle box, a green ammo can and an extension cord that he had stolen as part of the thefts.
He also said that he stole all of the property in one night and that he had the plasma cutter and would get it for the investigator. But he never did, and eventually, his phone was shut off and he stopped communicating with the investigator.On Feb.
6, Stevenson failed to make his first court appearance and a warrant was issued for his arrest. When arrested, he is to be held without bond.]]>.
