FOUR people have suffered smoke inhalation after being pulled from a house fire on Greta Street at Aberdare. Login or signup to continue reading Emergency services were called to reports of the home well alight near Cessnock shortly after 9am on Friday morning, November 15. A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said four patients were being treated for smoke inhalation, and one patient had minor burns to their lower limbs.
"We are still on scene and assessing the situation, but two people have been transported to Cessnock hospital," they said. Firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW arrived on site within 10 minutes of the initial call, pulling two people from the home. Gas cylinders are also venting and on fire.
A FRNSW spokesperson said over 25 firefighters from 10 stations remain on site with resources from 12 trucks. "Part of the single-storey home has now collapsed," they told the Newcastle Herald around 9.45am.
