Her 2.5-year-old daughter died after falling from a building, her elder son succumbed to a brain tumour, and her younger son passed away due to heart failure. Despite these heart-wrenching setbacks, Urmila played a crucial role in uplifting her grandson, Harsh Asher, who battled depression after an accident that left him without an upper lip.

Together, they started a homegrown food venture called “GujjuBen Na Nasta," offering fresh snacks and meals across Mumbai—an initiative led passionately by Urmila herself. In 2023, she participated in MasterChef India and, though she was the first to be eliminated, her charm and spirit left a lasting impression..
