Former Knicks Announcer, Son of Hubie Brown, Passes Away At 54

The former voice of the New York Knicks radio team, Brendan Brown has passed away at the age of 54.

The New York Knicks had a new radio team throughout the start of the season but received tragic news in regard to one of their former broadcasters. Brendan Brown, a former MSG Network analyst and Knicks radio guest, passed away Tuesday in an announcement made by his family. © Brad Penner-Imagn Images "It doesn’t seem real to have to say this and I’m struggling to find the right words, but on Sunday Brendan unexpectedly passed away due to health complications," Kate Brown said.

"We’re still in a bit of shock and processing." Brown was the son of former Knicks head coach Hubie Brown who led the team from 1982-1987. The eldest Brown has yet to comment on his son's passing at this time.



A cause of death has not been determined at this time, but the family is said to be understandably "shocked" at the current news. Brown had worked as an assistant coach at Wake Forest and with the Grizzlies, along with serving as a scout for the Knicks from 2006-08. Brown had with New York after serving as the team's color commentator on ESPN New York.
