Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
Based on the initial investigation of the Kalibo Municipal Police Station, Dayang was watching a news program on television when the assailant allegedly saw him from outside his home and fired at him from a distance.Scene of the Crime Operatives who conducted the probe found three empty shells at the crime scene. The Presidential Task Force on Media Safety (PTFOMS) in a statement on their Facebook page condemned Dayang’s killing, “We are closely coordinating with all concerned agencies to ensure the immediate resolution of this case,” PTFOMS Executive Director Undersecretary Jose Torres Jr.
said. Dayang was a former president of the Publishers Association of the Philippines Incorporated (PAPI), and a writer and columnist. He served as mayor of Kalibo town from March 1986 to January 1987.
