A former Glasgow school janitor’s house is to be sold to a housing association by the council for £310,000. The Broomhill Primary three bedroom home is to be purchased by Partick Housing Association if a plan is approved. The 1970’s detached bungalow boasts a garden and private driveway.

(Image: Picture of Broomhill Primary from 2018, Glasgow Times) Councillors are now being asked to approve the “off market disposal” of the house on 85 Beechwood Drive at a meeting of the contracts and property committee this week. A council paper said: “The asset has been declared surplus by education services and is subject to a secured tenancy.

It comes as the city faces a housing emergency with pressure on homelessness services.
The property is not part of the council’s common good according to officials and the site extends to 0.042 hectares..
