Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin presented the award during the state-level celebration at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) yesterday. Amin, 64, said the award was not only an honour for himself but also recognition for the Ministry of Education (MoE) and teachers who have greatly contributed to the advancement of the country’s education sector, especially educators in Sabah. “My hope is that this recognition will serve as motivation for all educators to remain dedicated in serving the community,” he said.

Amin, who is currently National Education Advisory Council chairman, was a Supreme Council member of the Sabah Islamic Religious Council (MUIS) from 1994 to 1998 and 2014 to 2019, as well as a member of the Tun Hussein Onn University board of directors from 2014 to 2016. Among his notable achievements in education are receiving the Global Awards for Excellence in Education Leadership and Teaching on July 4, 2024 at the World Education Congress (India), the National Education Leadership Award from MoE in 2020, and the Suluh Budiman Teacher Award from Sultan Idris University of Education in 2024.
