Former CS Manoj Saunik takes charge as MahaRERA chairman

Pune: Former chief secretary and principal advisor to the Maharashtra chief minister, Manoj Saunik , took charge as the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority ( MahaRERA ) chairman from outgoing chairman Ajoy Mehta on Friday. State housing minister Atul Save was present at the function and administered the oath of office to Saunik. MahaRERA member Mahesh Pathak and secretary Vasant Prabhu were also in attendance.

Saunik is a 1987 batch IAS officer. After his retirement as Maharashtra's chief secretary in Dec 2023, Saunik has been serving as the principal advisor to the CM. He was previously additional chief secretary of the finance and public works departments, principal secretary of transport, ports, and textiles, joint secretary in the Union ministry of defence, private secretary to the Union minister of power, the district collector of Nashik, and chief executive officer of Pune and Alibaug zilla parishads.
