For 2025, I wish that...

–AN elevated road exclusively for trucks and heavy equipment be constructed along Katipunan Avenue all the way to C5 — this ensures the safety of students, senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs) and community residents.– Authorities fix both sides of Katipunan Avenue to make their heights even. This will ensure faster U-turns and left turns, instead of having to slow down to save your vehicle's suspension.– Banks and financial institutions think of more ways to extend credit to senior citizens — those older than 65 are no longer eligible for loans. Many seniors have saved up but they need loans backed up by their savings to extend their purchasing power — just like what these banks themselves do, they use your money to make money for themselves, yet they do not want to lend to old folks who they consider risks in terms of life expectancy.– Local government units' business establishments observe the senior citizen's discount especially in parking lots and also strictly implement the exclusivity of the senior citizen/PWD-assigned parking spaces.– The National Council for Disability Affairs be mandated to issue PWD vehicle stickers — too many non-PWD car owners displace the disabled in parking lots with the connivance of the security guards.– The country's steel industry be supported by the government so our country can manufacture more housing materials, vehicles and other steel-related enterprises.– Pink collar (women's jobs like domestic helpers), blue collar (drivers) adjust their mindset to prioritize how to convince employers to hire them, instead of asking first if there are Wi-Fi signals or if there is a car wash nearby.– Motorcycle delivery and taxi riders undergo rigorous licensing exams, especially practical defensive driving tests, before being issued driving licenses by the Land Transportation Office.– Filipino voters grow up and choose the right candidates for the job.– We won't rely on traffic enforcers to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic — what do we have smart traffic lights for? Are they working?– We encourage more inventors.– We develop the capability to produce our own vehicles.– A National Endowment Fund for the creative industry be established to support the national cultural thrusts.– A Department of Culture be established which can provide more revenue streams for the country.– The Philippine Space Agency be given more support.– The Optical Media Board be reconstituted into an agency that addresses unauthorized usage through new technology — optical media (CDs, DVDs, laser devices, etc.) are now a thing of the past.– A school for politicians be established — this will enable a minimum standard of professionalism and quality of our elected officials.– There be an advanced or intermediate training for Tesda training graduates — the basic courses are entry level training and certification misleads employers, leading to misplaced expectations.– People instill in their minds and in the young, the age-old boy scout motto "Be Prepared."– Honor, excellence, honesty, industriousness and integrity be taught to children at all levels.– The National Cancer Center be well-funded to cover all cancer wards in hospitals nationwide.– We, as a people, do not self-destruct due to the promotion of hatred.– We don't continue to be the dumping ground of materials (including garbage) from other countries.– That banks stop changing check formats every now and then — we have had changes more than twice and render the existing checkbooks in stock useless. The customer then pays for new additional checkbooks.– We have a more efficient help system for disasters like fires, floods, earthquakes — people have been discussing trillions of pesos and yet we do not have a quick response system akin to the American 911 system, where ambulances arrive in five minutes or less.– People become more considerate of others, especially with senior citizens and persons with disabilities.– A more efficient enforcement system of gun control be implemented — as it is, the criminals with unlicensed firearms get away with it and only the licensed gun owners are given the tedious tasks of registration and licensing.– Viber and GCash would stop hanging.– After floods, roads are quickly repaired — Katipunan, all the way to C5 needs to be repaired, to prevent accidents from vehicles suddenly slowing down due to potholes, to uneven and poorly paved roads.– Flyovers be constructed well — one can feel the joined road sections and in some flyovers, the joined sections feel like canals running across. Flooding even occurs on these elevated roads!– People have more pride than readily accepting money from government agencies and find ways to work, rather than be Juan Tamad.– Before quickly criticizing others, one looks first at a mirror for five minutes. We don't forget to smile in spite of life's hardships.– We all go back to the lessons we learned in kindergarten.
