After defeating Mount Pleasant 33-7, the Hallsville Bobcats (4-6, 3-3) squeaked their way into the playoffs, clinching fourth place in Class 5A Region II District 10 play. They travel to Port Neches-Grove to face off against the District 8 champions, the Port Neches-Grove Indians (9-1, 6-1) on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.

m. After the injury to Josh Seal earlier in the season against Pine Tree, backup quarterback Joel Hale took his new role as the starting quarterback with pride. He helped lead the team to the playoffs with the help of star running back Ja’cayden Bolden.



Bolden eclipsed 1,000 yards on the ground with 1,019 and 15 touchdowns. He’s carried the offense on his back to help lead Hallsville to their playoff goal. On defense, Blanton Hale has been dominant all season.

His defensive instincts to hit hard and seek out the opponent’s offense has been evident all season as he sit at 101 tackles so far. The next person closest to him is Walton Surholt with 55. The Bobcats hands will be full with the District 8 champions.

But the adversity Hallsville’s faced all season and ability to band together to make it to the playoffs are bound to show no matter the outcome..
